Dr. Zarate-Lopez completed her training in gastroenterology in Barcelona, Spain awarded by the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona Autonoma University. Following gastroenterology training, she was awarded the prestigious Canadian Association of Gastroenterology Clinical fellowship. Her project integrated basic science and clinical research leading to investigation of the pacemakers of the gut and made the core of her PhD in medicine. She then moved to the UK where she continued further training in neurogastroenterology at St Mark’s Hospital, The Royal London Hospital and University College of London. Dr Zarate-Lopez has being a consultant in Neurogastroenterology at UCLH and an Honorary consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital since 2017. She runs a specialist outpatient practice receiving more than 400 referrals per annum, including tertiary and quatertiary referrals. She is the point of referral for adolescents with functional/neurogastro disorders for both Great Ormond Street Hospital and the UCLH adolescent team.

Professor James Lindsay is a renowned consultant gastroenterologist based in London, who specialises in the treatment of digestive issues such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and acid reflux. In his twenty-five years of experience, he has also gained bowel cancer colonoscopy accreditation from the National Screening Centre.

After graduating with a degree in medical sciences from the University of Cambridge, Professor Lindsay went on to qualify from the University of Oxford as a bachelor of medicine as well as surgery. He achieved his PhD in mucosal immunology from Imperial College London in 2002, before completing his fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians in 2008.

In addition to his professional experience, he is also passionate about learning and governance in his field. He has been both education officer and governing board member of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO). He is currently a member of the International Organisation of IBD (IOIBD) and a national representative for the British Society of Gastroenterology.

He regularly leads pioneering clinical trials and has both written and contributed to numerous medical publications.

Zobair M Younossi MD MPH is the Chairman of the Global NASH/MASH Council, Washington DC and Professor and Chairman of Beatty Liver and Obesity Research, Inova Health System, Falls Church, Virginia.

Dr. Younossi earned his medical degree from University of Rochester (AOA 1989) with fellowship training in at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation (1989-1995), while earning his Master of Public Health with multiple honours from San Diego State University (1995).

He then worked at Cleveland Clinic Foundation before establishing the Beatty Liver and Obesity Research program and Inova Liver Center, Inova Health System, Falls Church, VA. He has served as the Chairman of Department of Medicine, Inova Fairfax (2011-2024), President of Inova Medicine (2019-2024), Chairman of Research for Inova (2005-2022) and Vice Chairman of the Board of Inova Foundation (2011-2024).

He currently serves as the President of Chronic Liver Disease Foundation (2018-Present). Dr. Younossi has pioneered research in MASLD/NAFLD and outcomes research in Liver Disease and has authored over 870 articles, 1143 abstracts and 546 faculty lectures in national and international meetings. He has a Scopus H-index of 127 and is listed as the most cited scholars in Liver Disease and NAFLD according to Scholar GPS-2022 and Scholar GPS-2024. Dr. Younossi has served on the editorial board of several journals, including Co-Editor of Liver International and Associate Editor of J Hepatology.
